about

Last year (2018), Luke (Lofty Stills) came down a few days before my birthday and we recorded this cover of one of our favourite songs by our pal Nathan Phillips (Big Bend, The Winston Jazz Routine). We naturally sat on it for exactly a year, and now here it is as a reverse birthday gift from me to you! hope you enjoy and find the beautiful place that we both do in this song.

lyrics

LYRICS:

is it okay for a yankee boy to
fancy
a southern girl,
who drank sweet tea
and lives nine hours away?
but she's worth it
you should know i can't even breathe right
i can't breathe right
when
you're
not
here
you should know it doesn't even seem right
or feel right
when you're not here

your brown dress
the moonlight on your eyes
that shined at mine
i could've died
